Who am I?

A highly energetic Egyptologist with degrees in Egyptology from Oxford and Cambridge, the largest online following of any UK-based Egyptologist, an award-winning book published by Macmillan Publishers, reading fluency in six ancient languages (which I also teach), and a strong history of work in museums and education.

My love of the ancient world is one I don't want to enjoy alone, so I work to ensure it's as infectious as possible: whether it's my adult Hieroglyphs students at the British Museum or my 90,000+ TikTok followers, my excitement, knowledge, and flair for the dramatic allow me to infect others with this love of antiquity.

Recent Accomplishments

Received the Clarendon Award

To continue several years of working as an Egyptologist, I'm now also back at Oxford for my PhD. I'm delighted to say I was awarded the prestigious Clardendon Scholarship, given to the top 0.5% of Oxford's graduate applicants (whatever their subject), as well as an AHRC Scholarship. I am studying the spread of Egyptian religion across the ancient world, from England to China, and its consequent impact today (through following the travels of one very fascinating little god). I’m overjoyed to delve into a research project so close to my heart!
